This was a week of cardiologist appointments and playing the waiting game... Mom has a heart murmur as well as a bad aortic valve, both of which we knew about... Now we will wait to see what the doc recommends... but I am not sure mom really wants the surgery. Her plans were to have the surgery before my dad died, but now she doesn't feel there is a need to follow through.... so we are waiting on the cardio guy and then waiting on mom and her decision.
Today is Samaratin's Purse Sunday at church and I have had such fun this week hitting the dollar aisle at Target as well as finding cool and fun toothbrushes etc to send in the shoe boxes to be sent to children that otherwise would not have much of a Christmas.... I fill one in honor of each of my grandchildren, so it also gives me great ideas for stocking stuffers for MY little ones....
Sending all of you blessings for this Sunday.....

Nice new look. Sorry about your Mom. It never ends does it. I am so sorry. I hope your decisions are easy to make. How many grandchildren do you have?
Thanks for following back. Your blog is lovely. The Samaratin's Purse Sunday sounds fun and inspiring.
Kim I also had fun filling my shoe box. I ended up going to 3 different stores to get all my stuff. My box was for a 5-9 year old boy since I have 2 girl grand children. I will continue to pray for your mother. She looked like she was having a good day when I saw her church. She even said hi to me!
Love you, Bart
I pray that your mom will make the right decision.
Samaratin's Purse is a great organization :-)

I'll be praying for a positive outcome for your mom's appt. this week. I know how fast it can get "old" having to spend so much time with doctor visits when you and she probably just want to get on with "it." "It" being life. I hope she's feeling well though.
I love this time of year when I get to start thinking about putting up my "Angel Tree" in the living room. I found some really cute things for the kids at JoAnn's last week. In recent years we've had 2 Christmas trees ~ One in the Front room where I put all of the items for the Crisis Nursery and then the Family tree in the Family room where we all gather. I don't wrap the gifts for the Nursery because I want the adult recipients to know what is coming. I just put them all in white bags with silver or gold ribbon. I think it is more fun for them to receive that way than in just Target bags (probably just me) I put the tree up to honor my sister who passed away twelve years ago when she was 37. She was studying Child Development and was a Home Day Care Provider. Hmmmm, why am I going on? :-) I hope you have a wonderful week ~ Blessings, Janet
